These are the tools I always carry with me when there is the slightest chance that I might find a few seconds to draw something. Which is virtually always. These are also my main tools at home and in the studio: A combination of tools for water color painting and sketching: Brushes and pencils, fountain pens and ink pens, erasers and maintenance tools like the knife for sharpening.

I have been improving this toolkit for more than ten years and these products have proven reliable enough while also allowing me to express myself freely. I keep trying new tools all the time. But the fact that I have changed only very few items of this core toolkit in recent years tells me that this set is settling down (sorry for the pun).

My three picks for the infamous desert island would be: the Moleskine, the Faber-Castell Graphite Aquarelle and the Pentel Water Brush M.
